About Urjo

URJO was established In 2007 with the goal to reassure and restore self confidence in women going through midlife crises, primarily due to menopause and empty nest syndrome. URJO is a voluntary organization and the word literally means “Power”. We emphasize the power within women and encourage them to find ways and means to empower themselves and stay happy.

Pujo celebration with underprivileged girls & distribution of sanitary napkins

Urjo’s next Pujo event was celebrated on 9th September, 2026 at Nijoloy at Madhyamgram, a shelter for the homeless and underprivileged girls.
To celebrate the festive season, the girls put up a cultural programme,showcasing their musical and dance talent which was enjoyed by the Urjo volunteers.

Distribution of Saris at Baghbazar Sarada Prathomik Vidyalaya

Urjo’s first Pujo activity was organised at Baghbazar Sarada Prathomik Vidyalaya on Tuesday, 8th September at 4.30pm, where 40 new saris were donated to the mothers of the students who are from the nearby slums in sync with Urjo’s motto of ‘Bhalo Rekho’
