Empowering Through Skills: Progress Assessment at Urjo Sewing School, Aashiyana
A few members visited the Urjo Sewing School at Aashiyana on 25th February,2026. Theytook an exam of the girls... right from scratch from measurement to drawing to cutting to stiching...to judge their progress. A written exam was also conducted. The members were happy to note that they had made good progress which could be perfected with regular practice.
The school was inaugurated in February 2024 and with the girls properly trained now, it was decided to conclude this project.
The 17 trained girls, presented Urjo with an album with miniatures of the items they have learnt to stitch and also a beautiful handmade card thanking Urjo for giving them an opportunity to learn a new skill which , if practiced, would help them to earn a living. It was a satisfying day for Urjo with the completion of the Project successfully.
As a part of the festive celebration, Urjo also gifted the girls with sewing kits, which was very well appreciated.
