Ongoing Projects

In keeping with Urjo’s philosophy of ‘Bhalo Theko, Bhalo Rekho’ ( stay well, keep others well), we in Urjo, focus on the well being of underprivileged elderly ladies and young girls. Apart from organising one off events like festival celebrations & entertainment programmes so that we spend quality time with them and also arranging for need based donations of clothes, educational and other  necessary items, we also have some  ongoing projects aimed at their overall well being and empowerment of the young girls, which involves a recurring expenditure.

These Ongoing Projects focus on Health and Nutrition for the elderly ladies and Health & Hygiene and Vocational Training for the young girls.The Projects are as follows:

Regular eye checkups and cataract surgeries for elderly ladies:

Providing quality time to the elderly and destitute children

Monthly milk supply:

Urjo sponsors milk to underprivileged ladies of Apanghar Old Age Home.

Pediatric Health Camps:

Six to eight Pediatric Health Camps are held annually at various Orphanages for girls and free medicines are distributed.

Sewing School for underprivileged girls:

Running the Sewing School at Aashiyana Happy Home with a tutor employed who visits twice a week, regular supply of raw materials, Urjo Coordinator visiting twice a month, logistical support and members visiting at least once every quarter to check the progress of the girls.

5. Health Camps for the Underprivileged Elderly Ladies:

At least six Health Camps are organised annually for the elderly ladies at Old Age Homes and free medicines are distributed.
