Rabindra Jayanti Celebration at Nijoloy Home

Urjo members had a great time during Rabindra Jayanti Celebration at Nijoloy, Madhyamgram on 23rd May,2025.The girls dressed up in colourful costumes and their performances were outstanding. It was a vibrant and wonderful programme. At the end, all of us together, sang a few paras of 'Anondo loke'. Prizes were given away to the top performers, based on scores given by the panel of judges.

Food packets were distributed to all the residents. One member donated drawing copies and several Arts & Crafts related items to the girls, which was very well appreciated. Another member, a singer, was requested by some of the girls to sing and she gave an impromptu rendition, which the girls thoroughly enjoyed.

All in all, it was a day well spent and in sync with Urjo's philosophy of 'Bhalo theko, Bhalo rekho'. Members were also given a tour of Nijoloy's vocational training centre, comprising of a block printing unit where they print saris and scarves, stitching unit where they sew and embroider bags, dresses, dining table cloth & mats set etc and their spice making unit where they make ground spices. Members made a few purchases, too.
